The Opportunity

Cognosos is looking for an Enterprise Strategic Account Manager - a seasoned professional who thrives on the complexity, scale, and prestige of managing large global automotive, supply chain, and manufacturing accounts. 

The ideal candidate is a high-level Individual Contributor who wants to own the entire lifecycle of a key account. You will be the face of our company to executive leadership while simultaneously acting as the internal and external project manager ensuring tactical milestone delivery.


What Success Looks Like

  • Full Account Ownership: You are the owner of key relationships within your accounts, from executive to front line. You know their stakeholders, their internal politics, and their business cycles better than anyone else.
  • Tactical Excellence: You don't just oversee the deployment; you ensure the trains run on time. You’ll bridge the gap between account day-to-day needs and our internal product/operations teams.
  • Revenue Expansion and Growth: You act with curiosity. By understanding each account’s long-term goals, you identify upsell and expansion opportunities (SDR mindset) and work with internal teams to bring them to the finish line.
  • Retention at All Costs: You are responsible for ensuring we are indispensable. You defend the renewal by delivering ongoing, measurable ROI.

What You’ll Do

  • Navigate and influence executive relationships within automotive, supply chain, and manufacturing accounts to align our solutions with their business outcomes.
  • Manage the execution of existing Statements of Work and Project Plans, ensuring every deliverable is met with precision.
  • Act as the primary advocate for your accounts internally, while balancing the commercial realities of our partnership.
  • Proactively identify "white space" within the account ecosystems for potential growth and expansion. Your consultative selling experience will identify business challenges and create solutions for your customers.
  • Maintain a rigorous cadence of Business Reviews (QBRs) that focus on outcomes, not just activities.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer needs so you can effectively position the Cognosos portfolio.
  • Travel as necessary to deliver customer outcomes (10-25%)

Who You Are

  • The Veteran: You have 10+ years of experience in Strategic Account Management or Customer Success, specifically managing automotive, manufacturing, or similar Fortune 100 global accounts.
  • Technical Acumen: You are willing to develop a deep, working understanding of how the underlying IoT technology functions—from firmware and hardware to network and software—in order to diagnose issues quickly and guide customers toward successful outcomes
  • The "Player-Coach" Mentality: You are comfortable both presenting to a C-Suite audience and then getting hands on, digging into project task lists.
  • Project Obsessed: You have a disciplined approach to project management. You don’t let details slip through the cracks. You are willing to organize both internal and external resources towards an outcome.
  • Intellectually Curious: You are a natural investigator. You ask the "second and third" questions to find the root of a customer’s challenge. You proactively seek insights from both your accounts and industry events.
  • Resilient: You understand that large accounts have friction. You are a problem-solver who stays calm under pressure and moves toward a "Yes."
  • Autonomous Operator: You have excellent time management skills, and work with high levels of autonomy and self-direction.
